First, before I start my journal, let me just say that I am now a Senior in high school and part of the class of 2009. Today was my last day as a junior!!
So I was reading this book, (no surprise there!) by a Christian author, who I would STRONGLY recommend, and I came to read something that for whatever reason I had never thought of before. Anyway, I need to give a little background about the book. The book is about September 11 (One Tuesday Morning) and it tells the story about a firefighter and a very driven business man with the same face. Well, it is told from the point of view of their wives. The wife of the firefighter is not a Christian, while he is a devote one. Anyway, after September 11 occurs, one dies and one gets aminsia. The one who gets amnisia has to relearn who he is, and how to love his wife and God and daughter. Of course his wife helps him, even with his faith in God, though she is not a Christian. So. I get to the point in the book when the wife goes to church for the first time. The paster is speaking on the story of Mary and Lazerus and how Jesus cried for his friend. He cries when we cry because we were not meant for pain and suffering and it hurts him to see us in pain. So when we cry, we can be sure that he is holding us, crying and comforting us. I had to stop reading and ponder this for a moment. God has slowly been teaching me that he is a friend to us, and is not this big scary guy "upstairs" waiting to strike us dead when we sin.
Before he died on the cross, he took every single sin that every person past, present and future has ever committed and placed them on his shoulders, so no wonder he cries with us!! Not only does he hate to see us hurt, but he as been there, no sin ever committed with take him buy surprise, because he dealt with it already. I dont know, I found this so meaning full and I wanted to share it with everyone! So yup... pretty cool huh? I wonder what else he has to show us?
